Professor Qunyuan Xu, born in 1941, graduated from Beijing Medical College in 1963. From 1981-1988 he studied at Sweden's Karolinska Institute and Canada's McMaster University. His research mainly focuses on neurobiology and anthropotomy. He is the former dean of the Capital Medical University. Currently he is the superintendent of the Beijing Institute of Neuroscience, Director of the Capital University of Medical Sciences, President of the Chinese Society for Anatomical Sciences, Secretary of the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA), Visiting Professor at Houston Medical Center (University of Texas), and Honorary Professor of the Italian and Romanian anatomy associations.
